A clinic built on standards you can check
International Ultrasound Services is a private diagnostic ultrasound clinic founded and led by senior sonographers who continue to practise in the NHS. We provide pregnancy, women’s health, men’s health, general, musculoskeletal and vascular scanning from a single site at 5a Lucerne Mews in Kensington.
The model is deliberately small. You are scanned by a senior clinician rather than passed between people; findings are explained to you during the appointment rather than posted out days later; and the written report arrives by email usually within two hours, phrased so your GP or consultant can act on it without repeating the imaging.
Ultrasound is operator-dependent — more so than almost any other imaging modality. The same machine in different hands produces different answers, which is why this page is organised around who scans you and how to verify them, rather than around equipment brochures. Every claim below links to something you can check independently: our CQC registration, our clinicians’ HCPC and GMC numbers, our published prices, and our patient reviews.

How to check any private ultrasound clinic
Three checks that take about five minutes, apply to any clinic in the country, and are worth doing before you hand over money.
Is the clinic regulated?
In England, diagnostic imaging providers must register with the Care Quality Commission. Ask for the Provider ID and look it up. Ours is 1-2775844974. A clinic that cannot give you one is not registered.
Who is holding the probe?
Sonographers register with the HCPC; doctors with the GMC. Both registers are public and free to search. Enter RA38415, RA42614 or 7729988 and you will find our clinicians in under a minute.
What will they not do?
A diagnostic clinic worth using will tell you when a scan is the wrong test. If everything you ask for is available and nothing is ever declined, that is a sales process rather than a clinical one.
What we offer — and what we deliberately do not
Every scan we perform has to earn its place clinically. These are the things we are asked for regularly and decline, and the reasons why.
| Request | Our position |
|---|---|
| 3D and 4D bonding scans | Not offered. They carry no diagnostic value, and we are a diagnostic clinic. Our pregnancy scans assess viability, dating, growth and wellbeing. |
| NHS 12-week combined screening | Not offered. This belongs in the NHS screening pathway so results feed into your maternity record. |
| NHS 20-week anomaly scan | Not offered, for the same reason. We can help with reassurance, growth and wellbeing scans alongside that pathway. |
| Semen analysis | Not offered. It is a laboratory test rather than an imaging study, and we are a diagnostic ultrasound clinic. Your GP or a fertility clinic can arrange it. |
| A scan when a scan is not the right test | Declined, and we will say so before you book rather than after. Bowel symptoms, for example, are not answered by ultrasound. |
| An urgent scan for emergency symptoms | Redirected to the NHS. Severe sudden pain, heavy bleeding or suspected clots need same-day hospital assessment, not a booking. |
