- Hani A1/20/2023Lovely clinic, very easy to book app on website, lots of eve slots so perfect if working. I was seen by Eduardo this evening, who is very polite and professional. He explained the entire process to me before we started and what can be expected. Then during the scan he talked me through everything he could see on the screen, and sent me the full report no later than an hour or so. Very efficient service would highly recommend this service.More Genuine Reviewsread less

What is ultrasound?
Ultrasound is a non invasive diagnostic technique which uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of organs and structures inside your body. As the sound waves travel through your body, they reflect off tissues, sending information to a computer that interprets the waves and produces an image.
Your ultrasound may be performed transabdominally or transvaginally. A transabdominal ultrasound is the type used for pregnant women. The devices that emit sound waves, called the transducer, is moved across the abdomen, sending the waves down toward the uterus.
A transvaginal ultrasound uses a long, narrow transducer that’s placed inside the vagina. This method produces a clearer image of your pelvic organs, because it’s closer to reproductive organs.

Conditions Detected Through Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a first-line diagnostic tool used by NHS and private doctors to investigate symptoms across the body. At IUS London, our sonographers use diagnostic ultrasound to detect, monitor and assess a wide range of health conditions — from pregnancy complications and gynaecological disorders to vascular disease, abdominal pathology and musculoskeletal injuries.
Vascular & Doppler Conditions
Vascular ultrasound with Doppler imaging assesses blood flow through arteries and veins to detect circulatory disease. DVT scans (deep vein thrombosis) check for blood clots in the leg veins — a time-sensitive investigation where rapid diagnosis guides anticoagulation treatment. Carotid Doppler ultrasound measures blood flow to the brain and detects carotid artery stenosis, atherosclerotic plaque and stroke risk. Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening measures aortic diameter. Venous insufficiency scans assess varicose veins and chronic venous reflux.
