Four scans at the stages that matter, prepaid in one go — £167 less than booking them individually.

The package covers four appointments across your pregnancy, chosen because each answers a different question at a point where the answer is useful. It is intended to sit alongside your NHS care, not replace it — your NHS dating and anomaly scans remain the backbone, and we would not suggest skipping either.

Why These Four

The reasoning behind the stages

6–9 weeks is the earliest point at which a scan reliably answers the questions that matter most early on — is there a heartbeat, and is the pregnancy in the right place. Confirming location makes an ectopic pregnancy far less likely, which is a genuine diagnostic answer rather than reassurance.

Around 16 weeks falls in the gap between the NHS dating scan and the anomaly scan — a long stretch with no routine contact. It establishes a growth baseline, which is what makes the later scans meaningful.

28–32 weeks is where growth trajectory becomes genuinely informative. A single measurement tells you a position; two separated by weeks tell you a pattern, and the pattern is what matters.

32–36 weeks gives a final check on growth and fluid, and confirms whether your baby is head-down or breech in time for that to inform your birth plan.

Being Straight

Who this is not for

A prepaid package suits people who want structured monitoring through an entire pregnancy — often after a previous loss, a growth-restricted baby, or a difficult pregnancy. It is genuinely good value for that.

It is poor value if you only want one scan. If what you actually need is a single early reassurance scan, book that one for £119 and stop there. And if a specific concern arises — reduced movements, bleeding, pain — that needs your maternity unit, not a prepaid appointment slot.

We also do not include the NHS 20-week anomaly scan or combined screening in this or any package, because those belong to the NHS screening programme with a fetal medicine pathway attached. The package complements them; it does not substitute.

Do not wait for your next package appointment if

Your baby is moving less than usual, or you have bleeding, severe abdominal pain, a severe headache with visual disturbance, or sudden swelling. Contact your maternity unit or triage line straight away, at any hour — these need assessment that includes fetal heart-rate monitoring, which a scan alone does not provide.

We do not offer 3D or 4D bonding scans as part of this package or separately. We follow NICE, RCOG and BMUS guidance and perform 2D diagnostic ultrasound only.

Your questions answered

What is included in the pregnancy scan package?
Four scans: an early pregnancy scan at 6–9 weeks, an early growth scan at around 16 weeks, and growth scans at 28–32 and 32–36 weeks. Each is a full diagnostic examination with a written report usually within two hours.
How much does it save?
Booked individually the four scans come to £566 — £119 for the early pregnancy scan and £149 for each of the three growth scans. The package is £399, so you save £167.
Do I have to book all four appointments up front?
No. You pay once and book each scan as you reach the relevant stage, which also means the timing can flex around your NHS appointments.
Does the package include the 20-week anomaly scan?
No. The anomaly scan is an NHS screening examination performed to a national protocol with a fetal medicine referral pathway attached, and we do not replicate it. The package is designed to complement your NHS care, not replace it.
Is the package worth it if I only want one scan?
No — book the single scan you need instead. The package makes sense for structured monitoring across a whole pregnancy, often after a previous loss or a growth concern. For one reassurance scan, an early pregnancy scan at £119 is the better choice.
Can I find out the sex of my baby during these scans?
The 16-week scan onwards may allow it if your baby is in a good position, though sex determination is not the purpose of these appointments. Our gender scan is designed specifically for that.
What if something is found?
It is explained to you at the appointment and set out in your written report, with a clear statement of what should happen next so your midwife or GP can act. Where onward referral is needed, we say so plainly.
